there's under a month until the first deadline of straight 8 2011:
we're premiering some of the best entries at the legendary slamdance film festival in utah, january 2011
to be eligible for slamdance you need to enter straight 8 2011 on the website before december 6th
and get your film back to us by december 13th
with opportunities like that, there's never been a better time to make a film
entry price reduced
we're all about removing the obstacles that stop you making a film
so we've dropped the cost of entering straight 8 by more than 10%
the new prices are up now on the entry page of the site

this month jaap hermanns from amsterdam, the director of straight 8 stop-motion epic springlove chooses some of his favourite straight 8s and talks about accidentally goign to fim school and juggling his unpaid directing life with his paid sound recording life

straight 8 documentary event with sheffield doc/fest
we're just back from our first ever documentary event at the sheffield international documentary festival
it was an awesome festival and we showed some amazing films- check them out here
we can't wait to go back next year when the festival is moving to june
we're going to premiere all the best documentary entries from the whole of straight 8 2011
