hi how are you? we've had a busy time lately... world pollinationwe went to slovenia to sprinkle the seeds of straight 8 at golden drum ad festival, courtesy of our friends at kodak. will and ed told the story of straight 8 and shocked and wowed the crowd with a selection of awesome straight 8 entries from the back catalogue. and of course, challenged them to enter and we met diana from archive magazine who's now a media partner for s8 2012 - thanks archive! we 'virtually' attended a screening at amherst..... in massachussetts, usa. thanks alexandra hall for helping put that together we've been to goldsmiths college film society and various london ad agencies laying down the gauntlet next stops on our plans for world pollination: poland for the camerimage festival, and our friends andrea and vincent will screen straight 8 once again in nice, france at rencontres. plus paris TONIGHT - see below contact us if you'd like to bring straight 8 to your city, company, school, whatever - either for real or virtually - we can arrange it productionstraight 8 was commissioned to produce the official trailer for the london short film festival which happens next january. look out for it on the lsff site and all over the web in early december it involved one super 8 cartridge, a lot of paper and scissors and some very late nights - well done will & george for more will & george awesomeness french super 8 'fantasy documentary' (that we are in)good luck to remy batteault for his premiere, in paris tonight, of his doc: 'super 8... mon amour!'. check out the trailer deadlines - enter s8 2012 in time for:SLAMDANCE DEADLINE EXTENSION: MID-DEC we've extended the first s8 2012 deadline - the one that means your film is eligible for our slamdance premiere in utah in january. you now have till december 12th to make a film eligible for that and get it back to us in london (also eligible for our cannes selections for may). you can enter at www.straight8.net, now  get your head round our complex deadlines. or don't bother - download the s8 deadline calendar instead  straight 8er newscongrats to ace straight8er nick scott (earth to earth, the other half, visions of jack) on being signed to crossroads films for commercials representation. christmas present: solvedfinally - solve your xmas present woes... gift someone anywhere in the world the challenge of making a straight 8 or send them a dvd we've got beautiful bespoke wrapping paper and we'll send the cartridge to them gift wrapped with a message from you which you can write, scan and email us and we print out...   straight 8 |
